Aaaaaahhhhhhhh I took 2 years to plan this trip. Dari anak 3 masuk 4 hehehe We have to postpone the trip due to unable to go on sabbatical leave, completing my studies, family matters and financial constraint, I have to admit the last reason. Welcoming a new member in a family bring about us to re-structure our financial management. Finally… we managed to pull through. Alhamdulillah… the trip was well planned and carry out smoothly.
Tolerate with me, the last time we went to Langkawi was 10 years ago in December 1997. Azim was just 3 years young then.
The day we supposed to fly, Azhad had skin allergy. Rush to the clinic, gave him medication and a long list of medicine to take along. Our flight schedule at 1155am. Since it was the school holidays, the LCCT has changed into a bus station! Really!!! Plus, the Indons. OMG! I do not wish to elaborate any further.
The kids were excited about the aeroplane that they could hardly sit down. I was anxious especially during take off and landing. Kang tercampak anak2 aku, naya… This is Athirah, Azhad and Aliyah first time. Actually I have packed some titbits and drinks for the kids on flight but I guess the stewardess food cart was more mouth-watering to them. Including Abang Nawar too… he even had RM8 nasi lemak on board. Typical! I don’t have to share how Air Asia stewardesses look like, do I? Short skirt and mat salleh wanna-be hair style. Hhhmmmmm… faham kan? But I am ok with it…
We landed on the island quarter past one. Abang Nawar was snapping pictures like a foreign tourist. Kita kan pelancong, kata dia… :)
We stayed at Langkasuka Resort, 5 min drive from airport but it took us 20 mins to reach there hehehehe and rented a Toyota Innova. Check in hotel, had lunch, pusing2 Pantai Cenang dan terjun laut laaa…
We were trying to get the taste of local food. Every food place was jam packed with people and we have to settle at a place called Lubuk Buaya. Only one of its kind nama kedai tu kan? Luckily the food was good and tasty. Ke sebab lapar??????
Next day we went to Laman Padi, Underwater World, Taman Buaya and one round of the island. Laman Padi was very informational, UW was expensive compared to the aquatics inside, Taman Buaya was the same as ten years ago and the island has change in transportation and scene.
Besarnya ikan tu!!!!!
Unbelievably, I met my close but lost contact classmate while explaining to the kids why the starfish has no eyes. Surie Arini… yang menakjubkan ialah saya memang teringatkan kawan saya yang seorang ini, lebih kurang 2 minggu sebelum kami berjumpa.. Besar sungguh kuasa Allah menemukan kami, yang masing tinggal di Selangor, berjumpa sekeluarga di Langkawi. Syukur alhamdulillah . Bila tengok anak2nya membuatkan saya tersenyum mengenang masa lalu kami di sekolah dulu. Tiba2 teringat apa Aida Mastura kata kepada anak2ku masa kenduri bulan lepas… “Auntie, dulu sama2 dengan Mama buat….. bla bla bla... kalau nak tau apa2 tanya Auntie” hhhhmmmmmmmm Surie bukan kawan biasa bagiku, kawan luar biasa tau... teman berkongsi susah dan senang masa tu...Syukur, Allah menemukan aku kembali dengannnya.
On the way to Crocodile Farm, we encounter a district called Ewa. Funny but unique nama huh?
While pumping petrol, I noticed that the petrol station is still using the old model pump. Apa lagi ambil gambar and tunjuk kat anak2. Kat KL mana ada lagi petrol pump macam ini.
Luckily we arrived at the Crocodile Farm exactly at feeding time.
The kids enjoyed watching the crocs having snack but I was just wondering since the crocs are in captivity, does the killer instinct still there? Some of the crocs were badly hurt with open wounds and scars. Kesian…
We drove further and reached at a new town area called Telaga Harbour. Colonial design building with boat parking bays. Siap ada rumah api lagi… Pantainya cantik boleh mandi manda.
On the way back to the resort, we noticed a unique building, the 7 Roof Restaurant.
That nite we had dinner at Hj Ramli Restaurant. Superb seafood delicacies and ample space. Hari pertama dan kami telah memborong sedozen tshirt Langkawi.
