Siaran Tertunda :P

Australia

I was really surprised when Abang Nawar pickup the DVD. "You nak tengok citer nih??? You cant even stand an hour of other movie except 007 movies and what makes you think you wanna watch this????" and... women is always right, please dont kill youselves men because you need us in everything, yup I mean everything, of your life ok???? (akak juga ler yang kena cerita balik citer nih kat dia :P :P :P)
.
I have no idea what to write of Australia. It can't possibly be a serious movie, right? It certainly starts as a camp comedy then lurch into a clichéd action romance adventure before descending into World War 2 melodrama and finishing with an uncomfortable attempt at serious social commentary.

In short, the movie is worth the watch for the beautiful background and scenery. Nicole and Hugh was a beautiful couple together, they did the best they could for such lengthy story. I’m glad that I watched this at home as I don't think I can sit through a 3 hour movie (or shall I say 3 hour of Aussie tourism advertisement) like this in the cinema.

Maut

Sungguhpun begitu. Maut berani mengenegahkan isu agama dalam kehidupan sosial masa kini. Ia memberikan tamparan yang cukup hebat buat masyarakat yang mengaku dirinya Islam tapi moden. Tapi depa yang buat jahat tu tengok ka citer nih????

Syurga Cinta

Alahai.... saya tengok citer nih sebab ingin tau sangat kenapa adik My Life nak sangat menonton citer nih...

Harry Potter and The Half Bllod Prince

Personally, this movie has the worst ending of any HP series and wandered the furthest from the book.

Half Blood Prince is the first HP movie which I read the book prior watching the movie. I have lowered down my expectation (comparing the movie to the book) before watching it at the cinema and ready to let my emotions burst in order to experience the storyline. In fact, I am ready to weep at the scene when Dumbledore got killed but… I was in vain… (I was so touching at that chapter while reading the book and I hunted the same feeling with the film but I guess I demand to hard…)

If you love the series like I do, you will know that in every movie they have to cut parts of the book out and most of the time the production managed it without compromising the integrity of the book. This time they fall very short of the mark. For those that have not read the book, this movie will impress. The effects are top notch and it is a very engrossing movie. I understand the need to cut the movie in order to fit it into a realistic time frame.

The production also cut out a large action scene at the end of the movie. This scene could have been added if not for the adding of a scene that was not part of the original book i.e. The Burrows on fire. Furthermore, the scene makes no sense because during which they destroy something that is key to the book in the seventh volume. Not only do they cut scenes, they also changed important facts. What is the purpose you might ask? The unfortunate answer is I don't know.

Do not misunderstand me. I recommend seeing the movie as it is enjoyable but trying to change a masterpiece like J.K. Rowling's book is so saddening and I think this movie suffered from it.

As another fiction movie, Half Blood Prince has good movie shots, average action performance from the teens but excellent acting from Alan Rickman aka Prof Snape, beautiful scenery and bursting of teen romance.

I still fancy Prisoner of Azkaban and missing Gary Oldman aka Sirius Black…

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs

I was really impressed. A problem that many sequels run into is that they rely too heavily on the name of the franchise and hope it will blind the audience into liking a mediocre film. This movie didn't have that. It truly stayed true to the characters and themes in the Ice Age franchise.

The animation was beautiful. The scenery and colors were great and the characters were well done as well.

The film moves at a fast pace, has many laughs along the way and great adventures. It stands well on its own, so newcomers will be able to enjoy it easily, all while keeping the same spirit of the first two movies. If you liked the first, you'll love the second! If you loved the second, you'll go crazy for the third!
