Future replacements, ghostly anime, hero tua and aliens

haaaa.... tak tau filem apa yang ingin ditonton??? Mungkin ini boleh membantu...

Movies are my stress reliever :)

Surrogates

The storyline of this movie is something familiar with Minority Report or I-Robot. It is about how future technologies can affect human life and provide some philosophical point-of-view that is worth pondering on. The idea of technology progressing could be thought provoking but the movie storyline does not make it good enough to be worth an entire evening of discussion.

The actors were all very good and up to the task of portraying themselves in robotic fashion (this doesn't require great acting skill but the screenplay was quite good). I thought Bruce Willis did a good job in the lead role. The main plot which centered around an armed resistance group opposed to surrogates and attempting to defeat the surrogates and the corporation that produced them.

I enjoyed the movie, so go and rent it!

Gegege no Kitarô: Sennen noroi uta

(Kitaro and the Millennium Curse)

I clearly admit that I am an anime lover. Kitaro is my no 3 love after Black Jack and Black Cat hehehehe Kitaro and the Millennium Curse is based on the 1959-1969 manga series called "Hakaba Kitaro" by Shigeru Mizuki. For all of you who are not an anime person, the character Kitaro, is a Yokai (a supernatural spirit) who protects humans against evil Yokai.

The pace was a bit slow at the start but things getting interesting after that. The cast were good and admirable with some simple enough jokes that I could understand. The action sequences were actually pretty satisfying and overall it was cute and enjoyable. Worth rental!

Universal Soldier: A New Beginning

Sure, the movie is predictable and clichéd to oblivion but somehow I found it to be pretty entertaining.

Effects are reasonably well done, acting is mostly pretty pathetic but it's all quite entertaining in its own way. The Bulgarian way… Yup this was filmed in Bulgaria. That why you will see totally unfamiliar faces acting in the movie.

The opening scene was absolutely amazing action by Andrei (Pitbull) Arlovski who stole the show with a great action performance. Van Damme had a smaller role than the previous film and did a solid performance. I was disappointed that Lundgren's role was so small but he did a great job. The long fight sequence between Lundgren and Van Damme had some good actions scenes as well (walaupun hero dah tua dan nampak sungguh ketuaan mereka hehehe)

Watch it and you will like it mainly because of Van Damme and Lundgren :)

Aliens in The Attic

This is a funny family entertainment movie. I laughed a lot with many moments especially during the usage of the aliens' remote control. The CGI was good and alien Sparks is really a sweet character.

I actually liked the movie and the charm it developed. The fun, that the cast and crew obviously had, while shooting the movie, translated onto the screen. Sometimes you really need something really silly, to enjoy ... this one definitely fits the bill! and kids will love it too.
